I’m behind in reading the Bible in 90 days along with Mom’s Toolbox.

Life caught up to me, and I fell behind. I’m on Day 40 today, but today’s really supposed to be Day 50.

Oh well…if I double up on my reading, I can be caught up by Day 60, right? School started today, so I’m hoping to get a little breathing room between Mom’s doctor appointments (she has 2 this week).

I remember reading the book of Job in the car on one of our road trips…boy, was THAT a downer! Now I’m slogging through the Psalms.

I’m still reading the Bible in 90 days along with Mom’s Toolbox.

Believe it or not, I’m still on track, caught up with today’s reading. That’s in spite of the fact that I was on vacation all last week, and that I came back and took Mom to her cancer treatment today. Actually, before I caught up at the hospital, I was about two days behind!

I’m really enjoying the perspective of reading it straight through, and it’s nice to read all of the classic Bible stories in context.

I just now, seconds ago, finished day 8’s reading, so I can say I’m on track. Whoo hoo!

I’m a voracious reader anyway, so I don’t need much of an excuse to pick up my Kindle and read. I just make myself read that day’s reading before I move on to anything else.

I had been reading about a day ahead until I hit a bit of a speedbump yesterday: my mom was hospitalized, so that threw me for a loop. Praise the Lord, I did manage to get caught up! And Mom’s okay for the moment. 🙂

I’ve looked at a few other readers’ posts (listed here) and they’re doing a wonderful job of blogging their way through the Bible. I can’t pull that off this week, so I’m just concentrating on getting the reading done.

I’ve gone and done it. I signed up at Mom’s Toolbox to read the Bible in 90 days.

If you’re new here, you can find out more about me here and here. If you’re wondering what happened to my compatriot, Lisa, you can read this post (okay, fine…she’s pregnant!).

In short, I’m a married 37-year-old mom of two girls (ages 9 & 6) who also takes care of my mom (I blog about that over here). I decided to take on this challenge because though I vowed to read the entire Bible sometime in fourth grade, it hasn’t happened yet, and I always feel like I’m missing something theologically. My biblical understanding is holey, if you know what I mean.
